The japanese sable is omnivorous, eating plants, bugs, crustaceans and fish. It appears that the hokkaido sable's fur changes with the snow, which makes it one of my favorite kinds of marten. Some genetic similarities have been found between American and Japanese martens, which makes them kind of like cousins. Yes, all of them.
